The Italian town of Recco before 1940 and in 1945. A small coastal town of 5,000 inhabitants in Liguria, east of Genoa, Recco was bombed 27 times owing to a strategically important railway viaduct (photo above). The viaduct was eventually destroyed, but so was 95 % of Recco. [798 x 1054]
