8 hours agoOn April 20, 1945, during an air battle over Germany, Eduard Schallmoser Messerschmitt Me.262 collided with the American Martin B-26 Marauder medium bomber. Father and son GIs- Pvt. William R. Loop of Binghamton, N.Y., and his father, Cpl. Roderick R. Loop in Italy. Both father and son enlisted together, and served in the 191st Tank Battalion. The senior Loop served in WWI.
